Our person of the day is Lenka Výborná, Director of HR Strategy at CETIN International. Behind every trusted network stands something ever more complex and resilient than technology: the people who make the company’s heartbeat in sync with its potential. Skills, leadership, and culture are the invisible systems that allow talent to thrive over time.
In a world where digital services are expected to work instantly, whether streaming in 4K, loading work emails on the go, or synchronizing files across continents, there is an entire hidden universe keeping those seamless moments alive. At CETIN, this universe is run by people whose expertise, speed, and calm under pressure ensure that millions of users never have to think about what might go wrong.
In Czechia, operators tend to adopt and implement new technologies relatively early in the investment cycle, which repeats roughly every eight years. Customers are also used to this, and there are usually enough compatible end devices on the market. Czechs simply have a relationship with modern and fast technologies. That's a good thing. We were one of the first to implement not only 5G technologies, but also extra capacity in higher frequency bands, known as C-BAND. This is nothing unusual; the Czech Republic has always been at the forefront of previous generations of telecommunications innovations.

The independent network infrastructure operator CETIN Bulgaria has finished the installation of photovoltaic systems on its data centers (DC) in Sofia and Plovdiv. A system with an expected annual yield of 178.5MWh has been added to the roof of Serdika DC, and a 47.617MWh system now helps power Trakia DC in Plovdiv.
High-speed connectivity in rural areas is a necessary precondition for attracting the working-age population to live in smaller towns and villages. CETIN Czechia is a champion in rural coverage, with its fixed Next Generation Access (NGA) network available for more than 63% of all Czech rural households (Digital Economy and Society Index DESI, 2021). Most of the rural coverage is built using a fiber-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) network, which enables the users to achieve speeds of up to 250Mbps. However, since 2019, CETIN’s main focus has been the deployment of state-of-the-art fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks, including in rural areas.
